IMPORTANT; gonna stop blogging for a while

Oh, no, the exams....
They're close. At my school.

I won't be blogging till May 18th so that I can study.

I hope the space shuttle will launch soon.

In the meantime, you should follow me on Twitter or like my page  on Facebook.
If you don't want to miss me when I go back to blogging, you might want to subscribe by email. (you can find the gadget in the sidebar) Don't worry- I won't spam lol

You might want to see my friend's new blog y.pine. news.

How to put your iPhone/iPod/iPad back to jail (unjailbreak)

I jailbroke my iPod touch a few weeks ago. One reason was because my friend at school persuaded me to, he said "you can do all these cool stuff! You can turn wifi on and off quickly, and even change the theme of the iPod!"
So I considered the pros and cons of jailbreaking, and I decided to do it. I installed redsn0w(yes, it's spelled with a zero) and followed the procedures, and voila!
It was jailbroken. First I enabled battery percentage on the status bar. Funny Apple doesn't let you do that normally with iPods.
Then you can download apps(more like tweaks to the software) Apple doesn't allow.
SBSettings was the best app, it lets me change the settings like wifi and airplane mode from a single flick of the status bar. This is how the downloading of it looks like. If someone saw this showing up on their iDevices, they might faint, it looks a lot like hacking, lol
downloading sbsettings from cydia
How it looks like. Note the five icons in the dock, opposed to the normal 4. search "five icon dock" for it/
sbsettings

Then I installed these wacky themes on it.

theme jailbreak
Image search "themes iPhone" for more.
There's even an app that lets you hack into wifi networks. (let me just say for the record that I did NOT download that)

But I realized this fact;
the battery drains too quickly!!!

Oh no... At first I thought it was a small thing compared to the other benefits. But I soon decided that all these stuff are just for... toying around.

There are a few ways to unjailbreak your iDevice, and some are really complicated, you'll have to find files and do complicated things.

But this is the easiest way to do it;

Wait for an iOS update, that'll delete all the jailbroken things . I was planning to do so when iOS 5 comes, but iOS 4.3.3 came just a few days ago which fixed the iPhone "tracking" system, so I updated it and got my normal iPod back.

I don't know if I'll jailbreak again. Probably not.

Stop for Gas- in space!!

Going to space always had this one rule;
Bring the fuel with you or else.
Saturn 5 large rocketsaturn 5
This is why the Saturn 5 needed a big booster and tank, to carry the REST of the fuel. This was a big dilemma in exploring space.
Not for long!
gas station in space orbit earth
This is the amazing"in-space cyrogeneric propellant storage and transfer demonstration"
or,

gas station in space

to make it simpler.
If this becomes real, it will have to be a revolution because that way, a spacecraft can actually refill its tanks IN space and go on the rest of the journey.
It could be even used in the manned Mars missions!
Of course, there are many obstacles, the biggest being
"how exactly do you refill in space? Will we use pipes? Or just throw the tanks and catch them?"

This could be a new branch of space exploration (well, maybe more of the space industry), refilling in space.

Dimensions (part 1. basic facts)

(some ideas here are mine, and I'm really not an expert about these dimensions, so please, please take them with a grain of salt)
3-D world
We live in a 3-dimensional world. The dimensional are; length, width and height.
For a 2-dimensional world, take away the height. (but a 2-D world doesn't exist, for now.)
1-dimensional only has the length. For a 0-dimension, well, take away the length.
In other words,
0-D=dot
1-D=line
2-D=flat surface
3-D=our world

Get the idea?
1,2,3-D... then comes the 4-D. We can't see a 4-D world fully, if there really is one.
To get the idea...
If there really was a 2-D world and there was a creature living in it, we'll be able to pick up something in that world, right? (theoretically, at least) And the 2-D creature doesn't know of a new dimension- height-  where the hand comes from, so it won't realize it's been abducted from its world till the hand actually picks it up. The creature can only see 2 dimensions, so when it comes to our 3-D world he'll instead see slices of it, like a CT scan I guess.
So, if a 4-D creature finds us and snatches a person(let's call him Joe ), Joe won't know when it's coming and when he's taken away(poor Joe), the people with him can't see the 4th dimension (like the 2-D creature can't see heights), so to them it'll look like Joe just disappeared. And to Joe, the 4-D world will flash past him in 3-D form, which will most likely give you a headache.

I looked up on Wikipedia about the 4th dimension, and I got this really confusing video.4-D in 3-D form
some browsers might show this as a still image.
I decided that thinking of  4-D as an image will be close to impossible, at least for me, so I looked at the number of vertexes, sides and surfaces in a dot, line, square and a cube and I found a rule to it!
I'll write about it in the next post about dimensions.

Space Shuttle Launch- Just When Will it be?

Space shuttle Endeavour was to be in orbit by now, if all was going according to plan. But 2 heaters on the auxiliary power unit wasn't working, which caused the launch to be postponed. The external fuel tank(the orange one) was drained so technicians could get in and fix the problem. The heaters are really important because the space can get really cold at times and the APU doesn't want that.
NASA says the launch won't happen earlier than Monday, but I think it'll take a little more time than that.
In Japan where I live, the launch time was on 4 AM, so I had to get up early and tune into NASA tv on my iPod. (you can watch it from computers too- go to the link on the sidebar) I first went to my twitter app to say good morning to the excited(or so I thought) tweeters, and the first thing I noticed, the timeline was awfully quiet. And I found 2 people tweeting about "delays" and "heaters" and "too bad" and stuff. So I asked them "wwwhhhat!?" and they told me that the launch was scrubbed. So I went back to sleep.

I will definitely watch the launch next time!!
